Please be consistent...

Forgive me if I'm wrong in saying that if a company has more than one branch one should expect that the same procedures are followed by each branch within that company.  For example, I can go to any branch of my bank across Canada and expect to have the same policies and procedures followed for depositing a cheque or withdrawing money.  Why can't our court system be the same way?

It is my job to file documents in Small Claims Provincial Court across the province.  Seems fair to expect that since everyone is governed by the Small Claims Court Rules that filing documents would be the same from registry to registry.  However, this is not the case!  Time and time again I file the same documents in a different registry and come up against a different procedure.  I now am trying to keep a journal of all the different ways  of filing one document in different registries in order that I can provide my clients with the most timely processing.  Does this not seem wrong to anyone?  Am I alone in believing that every courthouse should do things the same way?

So frustrated with government today...contemplating moving away from Victoria.
